Social Services

The Department of Social Services employs more than 300 employees – approximately 10 percent of the County’s workforce – who have professional credentials in social work, employment and career planning, criminal justice, and information technology. The Department provides County residents with a range of services, including employment and support, child welfare, and adult and residential youth programs. The Department also provides County citizens with mandated services, including Child and Adult Protective Services, Food Stamps, Medicaid and Temporary Assistance to Needy Families.
